This supply of Republican mudballs is excessive, in my opinion, but it is somehow equal in number to the mudball supply in the Democratic strategic reserve. Whenever anyone in the Republican strategy sessions says, hey, let's stop slinging the mud, some bright young person rolls the video tape of the 11th hour DUI thing, launched the Saturday before the last election. As for rope-a-dope, I used the term several posts ago to describe the potential dangers of getting sucked into the swiftvets thing, but to me the swiftvets are playing a somewhat dangerous game, which may repercuss (!!) to their detriment. Libby--we agree on so many things, and this one as well; the only difference is our focus. You are focused on the truth vel non of the swiftvets' words, I'm focused on the potential negative fallout to the Republican campaign if this thing continues. Finally, Dabum's point is valid, with the above caveat to keep in mind. Kerry's crew ran the Dem convention as a Ronald Reagan sing-a-long: the flag, the military, monotheistic religion (we serve an awesome God--gasp! can these be Dems?), and John Kerry, the changeling, as Audie Murphy. Funny thing, I forgot the part where Audie Murphy came home from WWII with his medal of honor and confessed to war crimes, not for himself (never did it, never saw it) but for the 3 million guys and gals fighting the Nazis the Imperial Japan while the war was still on. I thought he came home and became a Hollywood star. My wonder (what a puzzlement) is why isn't Kerry running as a peacenik, a love & flower child, with his hair down around his chin? Why isn't he the anti-war candidate? Kb
