Bush could end the SWiftVet lies in 5 minutes if he wanted to, but he doesn't want to. The smear campaign has succeeded in confusing or turning off several million swingvoters who were leaning Kerry. So the lie campaign worked, at least for now. And Bush cannot and does not want to run on any real issues, just lies and personal attacks. So things are worse than ever. However watch now for a backlash against Bushie lies and negativity. In the next 10 weeks we will have a vicious battle royale between a candidate who tells the truth and wants to stick to issues and one who smears war heros with lies to attempt victory. In the end, expect a narrow Kerry victory because most swingvopters won't fall for it again despite the enormous effort to spread lies and disinformation by the Bush camp. Also, the Bush campaignh's officialk lies have been extremely dishonest. Not a single one of their attacks on Kerry is true. In fact Porter Goss pushed for greater intel cuts than Kerry and Kerry's defense budget record is the same exact thing as Zell Miller's. Typical BS from the far right.
