I think that too many movies are too cavalier about personal bravery. To deliberately expose yourself to enemy fire to rescue another is a brave act. Apparently, the Navy thought brave enough to warrant the medal.

Besides, do we want to now go back and review all medals to see if there was 'sufficient' bravery?

Rassmann actually wanted Kerry to get the Silver Star. He is sure to this day that he would be dead if not for Kerry.
