'Sentiments', are you kidding Neo?

I'm talking about a STRUCTURAL solution to federal over-spending --- the only thing that has showed any promise of working, not the public's 'sentiment'... which has ALWAYS been in favor of fiscal prudence, but that doesn't seem to have had a controlling effect on the pork barrel spending of the politicians.

I, too, agree that 'in time' fiscal discipline will be restored --- probably after a HUGE FINANCIAL COLLAPSE, when we have no other options, a la Argentina or Russia.

(Possibly a declining dollar will ultimately reduce the desire of China and Japan to continually finance our deficits --- in which case the 'correction' will be very sharp indeed.)

But, why wait for catastrophe to force our leaders' hands? why not start the progress towards a return of discipline right away --- and perhaps, avoid some of the impending harm?
