When you say 'we', who do you mean? The media? I think I have a pretty good idea about who he is and what he represents.

I completely agree. Although, he hoped that there would be a wave of support that would rise up and back him ... I am almost sure of that. That didn't happen, at least to the degree that he would have liked. Had it, he could have tried to out fight his opposition. I think he still hopes for that eventuality. He is free now to campaign and recruit.

What makes him tick? That is too hard to translate into Western understanding. Bottom line though, he is hungry for power and his threat should not be dismissed as a result of this agreement.
