Bush spent almost five and a half years in the Guard, two years more than Kerry spent in the Navy. Both risked their lives in military service, Bush in the inherently risky job of fighter pilot for several years and Kerry "in country" in Vietnam for four months. Both asked for and received early discharge, Bush 7 months and 25 days early so that he could further his education, Kerry 7 months and 14 days early so that he could further his political career. If that counts as AWOL for Bush, then it's certainly the same for Kerry. So which is it? Brig or kitchen, you moron?
