Bush was ABLE to defend the US due to CLINTON's MILITARY!
just a fact that is always DISTORTED by the GOP and the RIGHT!
and probably by the screwed up Vets so intent on making up things to get their vendetta from Kerry and the Vietnam war

Who are you defending the country against other than foreigners. Therefore, why shouldn't you get along with the other 95% of the world when you can rather than borrow money from China to put up defenses?

What did the US gain from:
- Rumsfeld insulting 'Old Europe'
- US going into Iraq unilaterally
- US insulting the French - remember that juvenile stuff about freedom fries?

What do we gain? Nothing. Then why do it?
