I show Kerry enlisted in inactive reserves on 2/18/66 then on 8/29/66 active to ocs school. graduated 12/16/66 ocs.

do not know if he attended any meetings from 2/18 till 8/29.

next his tour on uss gridley june 67 to june 68.

from june 67 to nov 67 USS Gridley was off coast of California.

From Jan 68 to June 68 USS Gridley was off coast of Australia.

Some times in those months or after june 68 USS Gridley did a five week cruise far off the coast of Vietnam...

This cruise Kerry claims as his first tour of duty in Vietnam. North Vietnam had no navy or air force and no one would claim this a tour of duty of Vietnam. I wonder if military records show this a tour of Vietnam in other service men documents.

From Nov 68 till Mar 69 Kerry served in vietnam.

He volunteered for swift boat service which was patrolling the coast and not a threat from VC.

Per Kerry." at the time, the boats had very little to do with the war" Kerry wrote in his 1986 contribution to the "THE VIETNAM EXPERIENCE REMEMBERED."
"They were engaged in coastal patrolling and that's what i thought i was going to be doing. Although I wanted to see for myself what was going on, I didn't really want to get involved in war."

Shortly after Kerry arrived in late 1968 swift boat mission changed.

from March till nov 69 kerry served as Admiral aide.
Do not have any more information from nov 69

Fwiw, he enlisted in the reserves after his deferment got denied.

Senator John Kerry, the presumed Democratic presidential candidate who is trading on his Vietnam war record to campaign against President George W Bush, tried to defer his military service for a year, according to a newly rediscovered article in a Harvard University newspaper.

...In the course of a lengthy article, "John Kerry: A Navy Dove Runs for Congress", published on February 18, the paper reported: "When he approached his draft board for permission to study for a year in Paris, the draft board refused and Kerry decided to enlist in the Navy."...
