Clerks make wonderful spies.

The question should not be what influence the spy might have had over American policy, but how the people who received the information might have used it to influence American policy.

I don't see it as a legitimate political issue, though, no matter how much hay some will try to make of it. We all know the Israelis spy on us, that's a given. We spy on them too. Sometimes someone gets caught. So it goes.
