Kerry made another poor decision. It was a mistake, but more importantly it has nothing to do with today's qualifications. What jobs would one hire an applicant for based on what they did 30 years ago and only skim upon what they did recently? That does not make sense, and is at the heart of the Kerry problem.

On Kerry's decision to make his Vietnam service the centerpiece of his presidential campaign, McInerney said, "He picked a scab that he should not have."
