You are right about that! Obviously you are not a heterosexual female. From my point of view, Tom Selleck is the ideal. (It's rumored that he has a place on Flathead Lake near ours. Don't know if it's true.)

My objection to "The Last Samurai" is the same as my objection to "Dances With Wolves." Namely, it glorifies a feudal society and denigrates our own. The truth, I think, is somewhere in the middle.

Recently I read "Memoirs of a Geisha." Anger came down over me like a cloak the whole time to think that men could treat women like that with their consent. I'm told it will soon be made into a movie.

I just started "A Cloud of Sparrows," which is a debut novel that I have in the review printing (not proof-read). It deals with Japan in the same time period as "The Last Samurai." I'll let you know what I think.
