Remove all the US forces and the UK, Nato, Spain etc and what is left ?

A big crap shoot. Do the Iraqis unite to survive or is there a power struggle? I wouldn't expect the Kurds to move south; they already have a good supply of oil. I might expect it more likely that eventually they'll move in on Turkey. If Turkey doesn't move in on them. ... got to free those Kurds in Turkey...freedom loving people and all.

So I hope some %$^^%$ like Al Sadr is unable to gain support for the simple-minded platform of "tossing the foreigners out"

I think Sistani was the big winner. Everyone else got crumbs. Sistani is the power player at the moment. I would have liked to been a fly on the wall at the meeting with Sadr. Even not understanding what they said, I'll bet the body language told an interesting story.
