The Smear Vets are all PROVEN liars. There's nothing valiant about their lies now, though they may have been as valiant as Kerry back in the 60's.

Not a single one of them except psycho Steve Gardner served on Kerry's boats, none of them were in eyeshot of anything having to do with Kerry's medals and they have all been contradicted by men who were actually there.

The only charge that is murky so far is that Kerry's first PH was due to shrapnel blowback from an M-79. But two crewmen on the boat that night contradict the Bush supporting Rear Admiral who claimed Kerry didn't deserve a Purple Heart. Two Kerry crewmen say the rear Admiral wasn't even on board that night. That man gave Bush $2000.

Also common knowledge is that Purple Hearts were basically anyone's for the asking so long as he/she was wounded in even a small way and enemy were firing. The Bush Smear Campaign has also attacked Max Cleland for getting three limbs blown off, making the same charge, that he did it to himself. That is also a lie. So obviously this issue is not about the size of Kerry's wounds it's about smearing a war hero who happens to lead Bush, as McCain did in 2000.
Karl Rove is behind it. He knows it works, at least temporarily and has no ethics or morals about lying.
