let us all hope that GW Bush and his brilliant administration get re-elected for 4 more years....

it would be the best thing that could happen to USA, Canada, Mexico, Central America, South America and all other freedom loving countries of the world.

If along the way the NeoCons and the PNAC become a little stronger..then so much the better.

The world needs a strong force to stand up and spit in the face of the radical Islamic global terrorists trying to intimidate the free world into paralytic fear in order to achieve their monstrous ends.

re teevee article. Saddam was giving favors to France, Russia, Germany, others for "Food for oil" program sponsored and paid for through United Nations, that is documented.....
the rest of the article is too silly to comment on....

regards

Rudy Giullianni and John McCain to kick off Republican convention tonight in NYC…be assured they will emphasize the administrations current efforts against global terrorism and rightly so….we wont have to worry about jobs, taxes, healthcare, social security and the continued propping up of Canada, Mexico and others if the radical Islamic terrorists prevail.

9/11 bad guys mostly portaled thru Canada and Mexico due to the extreme leniency and liberal immigration laws and enforcement procedures of those countries…..

Hopefully they are doing something to correct those discrepancies.

Life goes on………

regards

Not really a conspiracy theory this, more of a conspiracy fact .... it was likely a factor in Bush moving against Iraq, might not have made much difference though, as he was fixed on an invasion from day one

It makes little sense to price all oil in usd, when the US consumes only one-quarter of it .... by going along with this use of usd, all the Rest of Us are subsidising the US economy, and fairly directly US military power, since the ability of the US Fed to print little green banknotes, or actually for the most part electronic representations of little green banknotes, and trade them for real goods and services, is a one-way ponzi scheme really ..... which means it'll work fine, until the Rest of Us lose confidence in its value, then poof, no more seigneurage effect, the flow reverses - and in exchange for what, you have to wonder

Better to use a trade-weighted basket of currencies, for something like oil ..... even better, since oil is non-renewable, to use another non-renewable, something more enduring and highly concentrated, easily portable, and hey why not malleable as well .... hmm, perhaps some metal of significant per-ounce value ...

That is one reason, but I wouldn't go so far as to say that is THE reason. Also:

- Bush knew that Saddam was essentially disarmed and the sanctions would have to be lifted shortly. That would mean France, Russia, and China getting access to Iraqi oil. No problem for Bush, just as long as we control their access. Thus the invasion.
- the Israeli lobby, which came up with the idea and was the leading promoter of the invasion.
- the invasion dovetailed nicely with the general American foreign policy of dominating the 3rd world with brute military force. This invasion was an object lesson to any foreign leader who disobeys our marching orders.

It's worth noting that the Democrats generally agree with all of these objectives.
