New Time poll has 46% Kerry/46% Bush. This reflects the backlash beginning against the Smearvet lies. The SmearVets had their worst effect on about Aug. 23 when all the networks were carrying neutral coverage. But since then every SmearVet claim has been disproven. Now only far right media outlets will give them credence. On the radio today I heard the SMearVets mentioned three times, every time as "dishonest" and making up stories. What a change from a week ago. Further, it's now clear that Karl Rove is the secret mastermind and is just using O'Neill and the other Kerry haters. Their hatred though is irrational. Kerry is a champion of vets and fighting men. They totally misunderstood his congressional testimony in 1971. Or else they simply wanted the war to go on and on, and to "bomb them into the stone age" as many rightwingers did in those days.
