Lehman was a bigwig for Reagan in the Pentagon. He is a Bush supporter. Other that that, his story is a big non-event. No way in hell would Kerry ever fake a medal. He has plenty of the real ones he earned the hard way. Besides, Kerry is a very honest man. He simply finds it impossible to lie. Yes he will spin and fudge like all politicians, but he does not lie or fabricate. The Smearvets and Bush made the mistake of attacking Kerry where he is strongest, and without an iota of evidence to back it up besides Bushies, 98% of whom weren't even there dissing him.

Lehman was Navy Sec. for Reagan. I can only assume a sitting Senator, regardless of party, has a lot of influence. Someone in Lehman's office must have issued a new citation signing it for Lehman, apparently without his knowledge. And the citation has new language Lehman says he didn't write.

Why the desire for a new citation for a medal he'd already gotten? Puzzling.
