Lehman is saying nothing. He claims he didn't write it (of course he didn't, he had aides who wrote these things) and doesn't remember signing it (so he doesn't remember a lot of things, but his signature is plainly there).

Lehman also happens to be a top Reagan Pentagon official with clear partisan differences with Kerry. Maybe he's convinced himself he didn't sign it. But then what is his signature doing there? care to comment?

Take a wild-assed guess what this is all about? Just because all SmearVets claims have been proven lies they have to try and invent new ones or get dumped by the media. Da da. Keep the smear campaign going despite being exposed as liars. Go team!

Navy Secretary John Lehman said in the Sun-Times article that the citation was probably signed by an "autopen". A staffer wrote the text, and signed it with an autopen on behalf of the Sec. Navy. Standard operating proceedure!
