I heard one of the honorable swiftvets explain his support at that time. Kerry was being charged as a war criminal by his political opponent due to his own congressional testimony, when he said "I committed war crimes". He requested that a few of his former comrades come to his defense. They did just that and stated that they never saw John Kerry commit any atrocities in Vietnam. It's ashame that Kerry cannot be just such a standup person and apologize to his fellow vets for accusing them of daily atrocities. He just might try before Nov 2. He'll try anything if he continues to slide in the polls.
