This history of Bush in the Air Guard does not clearly say Bush ever flew a plane in his life solo without an instructor, yet even today he called himself a jet fighter pilot. Also notice his poor scores and suspension.

Fair enough for what they did about the issue of going to VN and what they did there. What they did after - like Kerry's 1971 VVAW activities - I see that as very different. The VN vets have good reason to have a grudge against him IMO.

received a good number.
In hindsight I wished I would have enlisted and went. I would have lived several years within a few.
Truth be told however, at that point in time, had I been ordered to go, I would probably now be Canadien.

I got a very high number. At the time I was agonizing over what course to take in life career-wise. I took the high number in the draft lottery to be a sign to not consider the military. If I'd gotten a low number, I'd have seen that as a sign I should enlist. I'd have probably enlisted in whatever I figured I could learn some kind of trade in.

nspolar, Veterans issue with Kerry is more about his false accusations to congress about them, rather than his actual record. He distorted their honorable behavior in Vietnam in order to win an election. He continued those lies in his biography "Tour of Duty". That's why so many vets want to set the record straight. They would protest his presidential candidacy even if he was Republican.
Kerry's integrity is in question and therefore he's not qualified to be Pres of the U.S.
