Gore never said he "invented the internet", he told the truth, that he was "one of those instrumental in creating the internet" because he was the #1 funding advocate in congress for it. He deserves full credit for that. The attacks against Kerry are worse though and more dishonest because they take a selfless war hero (anyone is selfless who volunteered for that kind of dangerous duty) and try to turn him into some kind of dishonest traitor. Of course from a far rightwing point of view, anyone protesting the war afterward was a "dishonest traitor". Of course the rightwing is also dead wrong on that. The war was horrendously wrong by 1971 and needed to be ended ASAP.
