It's like watching a slow motion train wreck I guess. It's happening and it can't be stopped. People are going to believe we need Bush because of the "imminent threats". The "last days" will unfold.

I think the premise of that piece is ludicrous to say the least. For one the Pakistan government is in a nuclear stare off with India. This second strike capability gives the Pakistan government a powerful deterrent to India's constant looming first strike option. These subs are now a vital part of Pakistan's defense (and even offense). The idea they would sell one to Bin Laden is laughable. Even if Bin Laden could afford one which I doubt. Or crew one with a competent crew. Then escape the US tail we have on all possible hostile nuclear capable subs which is much harder than the article makes it sound. I have read about the submarine warfare between the US and the Soviet's. The Soviets at no time ever had a missile boat at sea that was not tailed and could be sunk in short order. And they didn't even know it. And the Pakistani's would think India was a cream puff after they aided terrorists to nuke the US. They know that would be national suicide. They want to have their face off with India which is a powderkeg in itself. I think that American journalists have willingly joined with the Bush team in promoting fear to further the fascist goals of this regime here at home.
