A friend of mine tells a story about his mother who as an emergency head covering during a family emergency grabbed a dusting cloth and put that on her head!

In my family it was handkerchiefs. (Remember handkerchiefs? <g>) Mother always made me carry one. I remember using them on my head when traveling whenever I toured a church.

When I was young, to go to Catholic church you had to cover your head if you were female.

I didn't know that had changed. Maybe that's what happened to the hat business. (Remember hats? <g>) Or perhaps the demise of the hat business triggered the change in the Church. Nah. Couldn't be. The Church doesn't change that fast.

If Rome can change their head-covering policy, then there's hope for Islam...
