Perry gave the Smearies $500,000 all by himself, then every rightwing pundit in the country echoed the ads constantly for weeks until the major media finally decided to look at the issue and analyze it. Now that have done so and proven every single charge false. This is the exact same tactic used to smear McCain and Cleland. Though those were just in statewide races. Rove orchestated all three, or he had it done by close allies. Time Magazine said today that the only Smearie charge that was in any way true was the one about Kerry not being in Cambodia on Xmas itself, but Kerry had been in Cambodia 3-4 other times around the same period and was just a few miles from the Cambodian border on Xmas. And anyway, who cares? The guy has balls of steel to have in Cambodia ever in the first place.
