How does this imply unfair? Do our jumpers need to jump lower than ones from poorer countries? No.


I know its ridiculous to pursue this conversation with you but you don't see how the wealthier nations have a leg up on the competition? After all, when you are hungry, winning the hurdles doesn't quite have the priority that it has in this country. Nor is there the money and coaches available should you care.

Its too bad there isn't a way to handicap events but that would probably make the judging just that more confusing.

Why on earth would you want to do that? The Olympics are about being the best.


Is it about being the best, or about sportmanship and competition?

If its about the former, then Phelps should not have allowed Crocker to race in his place and Hamm should give up his gold asap.
