How is one supposed to internally relive the events? In your imagination? That's hardly solid evidence. By reconstructing the known facts, and examining the possible scenarios? That can work but its hard when the evidence is both slim and contradictory. A little training in the scientific method goes a long way in piecing together facts. In essence you some little thought experiments to judge how contradictions can arise. It's especially easy when you have multiple information sources even if they contain some internal contradictions. The more data points, the better the data smoothing. Some people feel empathy for Kerry, some for the swiftvets I think you confuse Empathy with Sympathy. Empathy is the ability to see perspectives, not an affinity. TP
