Media Monday: Not so swift edition
Pittsburg Herald

Monday, August 30, 2004

Here are some of the latest outrageous, sometimes humorous, quotes from or about the liberal media, courtesy of the Media Research Center:

Don't trust Nixon's point man: "The men behind the Swift Boat Veterans' ad refused to back off. Their leader, John O'Neill, was also Richard Nixon's point man in attacks on John Kerry's protest of the Vietnam War 30 years ago."

-- CBS reporter Byron Pitts trying to discredit all 254 anti-Kerry vets by linking one with Richard Nixon.

Onus on Bush, not Kerry: "Even Republican Sen. John McCain has called on the president to condemn this ad. Why hasn't he done so?"

-- ABC anchor Elizabeth Vargas on George Bush's responsibility to help the Kerry campaign sidestep the charges by Swift Boat veterans.

Suddenly, focusing on Vietnam is childish: "'You did this in Vietnam.' 'No, I didn't.'"

-- CNN fill-in anchor Daryn Kagan adopting a whiny voice, on the "kindergarten politics" of debating whether Kerry told the truth about his role in Vietnam.
