John, Why would you not want McCain on the ticket? He's loved by Americans on both sides of the spectrum because he's a sensible moderate. GW's reelection has taken such a strong effort because he leans farther to the far right. We need more moderation in American politics so that the gov is actually working for the people. That's the essence of the purpose of the USA. The far right uses presidential power to protect businesses but almost forgets there are workers. American moderate Repubs are winning this one for GW because we know his determination to eradicate the terrorists trumps domestic issues. Come 2008 moderate Repubs like me will expect a thank you ticket from the far right....McCain would be the perfect presidential candidate & the far right can choose the VP. If far-right Repubs insist on another one of their own at the top of ticket in 2008, they will lose a large portion of those moderate Repubs helping to re-elect GW this time. If that happens, the Dems will finally get their chance. Hopefully the liberals won't offer another weak nominee like Kerry. Moderate Repubs in that case will be held hostage yet again by the far right.
