(aka the practice run for the WOT) I don't think Guilani was just "playing to the Jewish vote" tonight when he went after Arafat, et al. You are right. We are going though the same "left/right" approach to militant Islam that Israel did. Hopefully, we will learn from their mistakes. But it will make the controversy continue. I think the "post Vietnam" syndrome has created a great deal of pacifism in this country.

The dealing with Iran will not be covert-- the question is will they be next or Syria? The arragance of Iran indicated they require being dealt with and no one else has the balls to take them on.

It has to be dealt with and dealt with openly. You don't have to be a terrific salesman to sell this concept to the world. I know I am going to get huge laughs out of this, but John Kerry can deal with this better than George Bush. Remember what the swifties said and witnessed about John Kerry - he shot some kid in the back when he thought they were VC terrorists. Okay I am saying this in jest and only saying it to you - I think you know what I mean <gggg>.
