Ted, do you consider pedophiles and serial killers on the same levels as homos?

No, I don't, but that's beside the point.

The point is that I don't believe any of these people were "genetically predestined" (or predispositioned, as you put it) to become the way they are. I believe in free will, which when exercised allows humans to choose whatever they want to be.

I see........you remember growing up and reaching a point where you said to yourself.......I can be straight or gay. Which do I want to be? Then you decided you were straight and went on your merry way. Is that how the thought process went for you?

So when scientists claim to have discovered the "gay" gene, or the "pedophile" gene, or the "serial killer" gene, I take these claims with a large grain of salt, especially when they jump to the conclusion that such genes overpower free will. I don't doubt that such genes do exist, but I do doubt how much they influence the choices we make.

Of course, you take it with "a large grain of salt". It doesn't fit what you want to believe. And why is that?
