Today's theme over there is that of course Kerry will win
the war on terror.

This from people who are already nervous and jerky
about completing the mission in Iraq.

I'm also mightily amused by the Kerry flip flops
on troop reductions and re-deployments abroad.
He's criticized Bush both for not moving the troops
and for announcing the re-deployments (the planning for
the latter having been on-going for 3 years)

We've been in Korea and Germany, e.g., for 50+ years.
I think there are around 70K troops in Germany.
Germany!

When you hear that, the 160K in Iraq doesn't sound
so high.

McCain gave an interview after his speech last
night where he was asked how long we'd be in Iraq.
He said 10 to 20 years, pointing out our presence
in Germany, Korea and elsewhere as illustrations.

Too bad Bush gaffed when asked if the war on terror
was winnable....but it is funny that the Dems immediately
jumped on it to proclaim that it was. Despite the
fact that, as a group, they're unwilling to do what
it takes and have a candidate whose history shows
a propensity to run rather than take casualties.

Nothing worth fighting for is without pain.

I think it's good that they kick out the troublemakers. Those who want to argue can go to the GWBush thread.

After all, this thread does the same thing. You wouldn't want a double standard would you?
