Heading south is a bad idea...I seen way too many huricanes do a 180 without warning. Opel in 1996ish was a good example. Opel was a cat 3 and was suppose to hit texas...then in two days she became a 5 and slammed into alabama/north florida.

The cone of Frances could still turn and cross over Miami, even over Fort Lauderdale could make a dogs breakfast of Ft. Myers. I have reservations in Crystal River tomorrow and Thursday night and reservations in Birmingham AL after. Found a dog friendly hotel in each city so we are ready.
