No, reality. The facts are that since Reagan bombed Kwadafi in 1986, he had more less kept to himself. Sure we had Pan Am over Lockerbie, but that was never conclusively proven to be the working of Kwadafi. There were indications that it was actually the Iranians trying to pay the U.S. back for taking down their airliner a year earlier.

All I'm saying is that Kwadafi might have made the same jestures of peace regardless of what else is going on in his region, because the price of oil is back up to a level that justifies reinvestment. He needs the West to invest in and modernize his oil facilities. There's just a strong a correlation between what's happening in Iraq as there is to the rise of the price of oil to Kwadafis action. To not consider the economic, is to be in denial.
