Yes, he did take the initiative in congress to fund the beginnings of what would be the internet and he deserves full credit for that. But that was funding. He never said he "invented" it. That remark comes from the RNC dirty tricks division. Just like all the BS from the SmearVets, the BS that Bush is a great warrior after going AWOL, and the BS that he will win the war on terror after just saying we cannot win the war on terror. The whole convention in NYC in fact is pure BS. A bunch of moderates being paraded onstage while all the rightwingers hide. This is even worse than 2000 when the GOP paraded on nothing but minorities and women. Meanwhile the hall was 80% white rich males with short haircuts, black suits and ties.

Legislatively, Gore provided the funding for DARPA to create the internet, a government-funded invention.

That's NOT what he said. But hey, Gore's not running for president. Bush the war/peace prez is, though - yesterday Bush said we cannot win the war on terror, today he said we can. Which is it, Yes or No...are we going to invade Iran or not, is Bush keeping Social security safe from looters like himself or not, does Bush care that millions of children were left behind by him during the past almost four years, that the ranks of the impoverished are increasing, that millions are without jobs under his rule, that 15 to 20 percent of Americans have no health care, that 1,000 young men have lost their lives in Iraq a war started by lies told by liars?
