Your position ("Abolish accurate timers, for they might be used by terrorists in making nukes!") is so ridiculous that I can hardly believe I spent minutes of my life talking to you on this.

That only happened, of course, because I thought your position was a slightly different but somewhat less ridiculous "Abolish atomic clocks for they might provide nuclear material for terrorists!".

To point out the obvious, there were no high-precision atomic clocks at the end of WWII and yet Hiroshima and Nagasaki happened. Ergo, nukes can be made to kill without atomic clocks, and it is pointless to fear THE CLOCK.

Besides, if you are so paranoid about the end of (your) world, shouldn't you be busy trying to abolish genetic studies? Scientists managed to manufacture the polio virus in a lab from pieces of genetic material. What if the terrorists do the same for, say, the Ebola virus and set it loose in the middle of Manhattan.

Or, let's outlaw nanotechnology. Ever heard of gray goo? You know, if we set loose tiny machines that can self-replicate, the world could soon be covered by an all-encompassing gray goo.

If you fall short of paranoid thoughts about death and destruction, let me know and I will tell you more doomsday scenarios that are far less ridiculous than "atomic clocks will lead to disaster!"...
