Sojourner, the Left is desperate. They pounced on a few of GW's words and tried to make political hay. However it's not working for them...Pres Bush is continually gaining in the polls.

Bush is full of it either way. You cannot say we can't win it, then we will win it in 24 hours and expect anyone to know where you stand or what you understand. It's the biggest flip-flop in presidential history.

OBL clearly stated he would stop once we stopped supporting Israel and pull out of the Middle East

Soujourner - Do you really think that alone would end OBL's war against the US/West? It seems to me that our efforts to spread such ideas as equality and opportunity for women, tolerance for homosexuals, and the general export of Western cultural values would still mark the US as a Great Satan in the eyes of the Islamic jihadists.

And even if it were politically possible to withdraw our support of Israel, wouldn't that increase the chances of another ME war - only this time with a real risk of a nuclear exchange?

As to the neutron bomb, did we even develop it?

BTW, I appreciate reading your rational responses to the tedious rants against Bush.

On the election, I'm sorry that Cheney has remained part of the ticket. It would have been really interesting to see him replaced by Condi Rice. I think she would have blown away Edwards in a debate, and set up an intriguing scenario of two women running for President in 4 years.
