Jake, I just sent more money to the DNC. I'm still steamed about those Smear Boat ads. If they keep it up, I will sent more $$$.

Given the acceleration in the disparaty between rich and poor over the past 50 years, even with a progressive tax, I think one could make a very strong argument that a flat tax would only serve to widen the gap further. Good in theory, but I think it fails in real world implementation.

Job training is a good idea, but this also takes money and resources. Furthermore, this only applicable to a very small portion of the overall problem.
