true, but the have's have a responsibility to preserve at least the perception that each have not has the opportunity to become a have. (try saying that 5 times quickly)

This is essentially the engine behind the American dream (which already is, to some extent, a lottery). If the odds become stacked too far against the have not's and the dream turns to disillusionment, revolt will be the inevitable result.

In America there are none who have not the opportunity. There is ignorance, hate despair and those who preach it to control others.

There will always be those who never really earned what they have and will think they have some insight above the truly informed.
