They happen in war, it comes with the territory and those that don't think they will are incredibly naive. Kerry was eager to declare others war criminals but not himself. Obviously, at this point, most other vets feel the same way and that's the issue, isn't it? >>> At least you're entirely consistent. <<< Thank you. You'll find no flip flopping on my part. Based on the research I've done and the experiences I've had, I believe in showing conviction in my beliefs. I realize that would make me a bad political candidate though, and that's why I don't run for office. <g> Are you aware that consistency is an important leadership trait? Of course, fairness must accompany that trait to maximize it's impact to the positive side. >>> Assuming he "betrayed" the vets by saying that he'd been told of atrocities that were common in Vietnam, now how did he "betray" the Irish? <<< Again, I try to deal with reality. I'm not into philosophizing or dealing with dreams. Kerry has lost ground with vets. The numbers clearly show this. The polls are now swinging in Bush's favor. Most vets don't believe Kerry did the right thing by testifying in Congress on their behalf at the time that he did it. Reality is that a lot of Irish resented how Kerry led them to believe he was Irish when he wasn't. It might not be a big deal to you but to others, it's just another taint in the uncertainty that surrounds this man. Kerry's inconsistencies are costing him at this point. Confusion seems to be Kerry's flag to rally around. Nothing is cut and dry about him. Everything is clouded with confusion and inconsistency. dabum
