NASHVILLE, Tenn. - President Bush (news - web sites) said Tuesday "we will win" the war on terror, seeking to quell controversy and Democratic criticism over his earlier remark that victory may not be possible.

In a speech to the national convention of the American Legion, Bush said, "We meet today in a time of war for our country, a war we did not start yet one that we will win."

That statement differed from Bush's earlier comment, aired Monday in a pre-taped television interview, that "I don't think you can win" the war on terror. That had Democrats running for the cameras to criticize Bush for being defeatist and flip-flopping from previous predictions of victory.

Scare tactics?

That's what the Bushies have been doing to you all with yellow, orange and red alerts! and tales of terrorists lurking at every nook and cranny in the US! No attack and no terrorist found after 3 long years! Bah! Humbug!
(However, I think the Bushies are very likely to oblige you all with a "simulated Al-Qaeda attack" in an attempt to restore their credibility and to scare you folks into returning them to power!)

Remember all the scare tactics about WMDs in Iraq to warrant an invasion of Iraq?

No WMDs found so far! Oh, what a laugh on that one!
Oops! I should not say "laugh" as American boys are delivered home in body bags almost every day.

There's no denying your idol Bush has got eggs on his face! and his nose has been growing longer and longer (remember Pinocchio?) over the last 4 years.
