To begin with, it's OK to change one's mind over the years. The clear thing for Kerry would have been to say, I made a mistake and I have changed my mind. That's what grown ups do when they screw up.

Bush was a drunk. He admitted it and changed his ways. A mistake made, a mistake corrected. It's called maturity.

Kerry continues to compound his mistakes.

I voted for McCain in the SC primaries. Whether he cracked or not wasn't an issue with me. Most anyone would have cracked given enough time.

I don't agree with your analysis. If one is consistent, then it's easier for one to know when they are wrong. When they are wrong, they correct the mistake. (That's why we invented erasers.) When one is inconsistent, or better yet, flips flops, then how is one to know if they are right or wrong? The mistakes compound quicker than a 13% mortgage rate.
