That was absolutely not the impression one would've gotten in late 2002 from the administration.

I don't think it'll take ten years of our substantive involvement. But could you provide a link for your assertion?

It'll take at least ten.

The situation in Iraq gets worse daily. There is no reason to believe this trend won't continue so long as Americans are there. Ten years, twenty, or five hundred will not make a difference. It's not a case of just being misunderstood and everything will work out once tempers have cooled.
