Where does it point, then?

The point I was trying to make is that the things you mentioned are health problems in the US, true, but that doesn't imply the health care system is at fault. The health care system is there for when we need it, but it can't make us not drink, smoke, eat big macs etc. The fact it can't do that isn't a fault IMO.

Even people who have insurance will avoid going in for care because they feel they can't afford the deductable. Or their condition isn't covered.

This may be true for some, but overall we go to the doctor way too much in America, and that is why costs are soaring. That and malpractice insurance.
