I think he would have to be at the "genius" level. This whole debate is being pushed to set up a scapegoat if Kerry loses a close state. A very close election would set up lawsuits ad infinitum.

Ish, The voting is recorded on a plastic card, about the size of a credit card, which the voter then deposits in a locked ballot box. There may still be a way to tamper with the cards, but doing something to the machine itself, after the vote is cast, won't make any difference.
