Sure! I agree --- 'retired' terrorists are much less threatening then active ones.

But, you got to admit that there is a certain amount of inconsistency involved in these political decisions... otherwise, why all the brouhaha about a 1960s-era Palestinian terrorist dying in a hospital in Saddam's Iraq, vs. the active diplomatic efforts to shield an airline bomber (active in the 1990s) in Miami from foreign prison?

(Apparently he had the 'good grace' to blow up an airliner full of civilians from a bad, bad, evil country... and so it's 'OK'.)
