It is astounding to see that Bush has any more than, say, 30% of the vote. It is hard to figure out why, because so many who support him are unable to articulate why. It must just be a feeling they get from him, because whenever you discuss him, it is clear from the facts that he is a disaster of a President.

Reminds me of some people I know from Canada. They were transferred to work in Texas, and at first thought the people very friendly and outgoing. Soon after arriving, a coworker asked my friend which church they went to. My friend replied that they weren't really regular churchgoers. At that point, a wall of ice went up; literally NONE of her native Texan coworkers would have a conversation with her. One day, about six months later, a native did strike up a conversation. The coworker told my friend that the women had discussed it, and even though she didn't go to church, they decided that she was not evil...
