Good observation. Think health care unions, regulations of what must be covered, what insurance companies can't do to limit their risks, trial lawyer heavens, liberal juries, unnecessary defensive treatments. It all costs money...

That's because we don't work as hard and aren't as smart as the rednecks, I mean, the people in the conservative states.

Not sure about MD, but the governors in both NY and MA are Republicans, plus the Reps run the state government in NY.

It actually has more to do with the large urban centers in those areas, I think.
