I'm in Texas and I pay more than that just in the drug fees from the insurance company. I don't have any unusual medical conditions. The insurance cost is about $200 a month beyond the fees.

I think you're getting in on the tail end of the conversation. I obtained quotes for comparative policies in various areas for a 21-year old male, basic coverage, $1,000 deductible. They were posted here a month or two ago. D/FW was around $50/month.

As to your particular policy, I can't speak to it. There are many, many coverage options and deductibles, or you could just have a crappy plan. The point was that there is no excuse for most young people to be uninsured, other than just sheer irresponsibility; yet, many choose to be without insurance.

While these policies don't cover everything, they guarantee the patient will receive the best possible medical care and will receive the benefits of repricing.
