Bush let 9-11 happen by ignoring warnings. That was his job, to pay attention to warnings not ignore them and go on vacation. After 9-11, after sitting there doing nothing for 7 minutes while the WTC burned, Bush finally got up and mentioned terrorism. He did rally the Ground Zero crowd and attacked Afghhanistan with 99% bi-partisan support. But then - this is where Bush starts blowing it - Bush not only allowed Osama and friends to escpae at Tora Bora, but suddenly shifted out of Afghanistan and began planning an unprovoked war with Iraq, lying and exaggerating the danger of Saddam's supposedly huge arsenal, also infering that Saddam and Al Qaida were partners. This is where Bush got not only dishonest but inept as he plunged us into a costly war without adequate prep, allies or truth on our side.
