A thousand years ago, Arabs had the most libraries, the most poets, the most intellectuals. Now they don't.

Arabs have a long history of civilization and I don't think they have any excuse for turning into a death cult.

<That's a mistaken notion. For every splodeydope, there is also the guy who recruited him, the higher-up who ordered the bombing, the handler who trained him, the engineer who made the bomb, and the driver who drove him to the scene.>

Sure, and don't forget the people who knowingly fund the attacks, such as Americans who funded the IRA.

I meant the idea of collective punishment of people unrelated to the attacks.

Calling Arab history 'civilization' is stretching the word. My idea of civilization wouldn't include Aztecs, Chinese Emperors with their hordes of eunuchs, Roman conquest, or Arab, or Olde Englishe where the rack, flaying and burnings at the stake were Lord of the Manor entertainment. Heck, I'm stretched to call any country civilized even today, so I suppose my definition is on the Utopian side.

Here's hoping the American domino theory works; one Arab country going civilized will make the rest of the dominoes fall. The communist domino theory didn't get far in South East Asia, so I'm not too optimistic in the Arab world for the capitalist/democratic idea. Getting the first one to "civilized" or even "democratic" seems a difficult project so far. But Turkey is. Iran is sort of. Maybe it'll happen with a rush, like the Warsaw Pact falling apart along with the USSR in a couple of years.

Palestinian Prisoners Get Hungry
LGF
The Palestinian thugs, murderers, and Islamic terrorists in Israel’s prisons have ended their “hunger strike.” Their brethren in the West Bank and Gaza are shooting guns in the air, crowing that most of the prisoners’ demands have been met.

But as usual, they’re lying.

“They didn’t get anything. We didn’t hold any discussions with them at all. They resumed eating unconditionally,” the commander of prisons, Yaacov Ganot, said.
