JC Watts is about to stop by Blogger's Corner. I'll have some details shortly.
Slantpoint blog

UPDATE:
A small group of blogger's asked JC some questions a moment ago. He sat with us for at least 30 minutes, talking in a relaxed manner in what seemed like a bunch of guys just hanging out.

Watts spoke on Republican outreach to minority communities, telling us that Republicans will pay a "horrendous price" if we don't get this going now.

Responding to comments about Democrats getting out there and going to the black churches, moreso than Republicans, Watts had this to say. "Being a minister, I would not allow Republicans or Democrats to prostitute the pulpit the way I think many ministers have. he said. "And white ministers usually don't do that."

Watts also reflected on a common misconception about blacks. "Most black people don't think alike, most black people just vote alike."

We then spoke about Alan Keyes. Watts said, "If Alan and Barack Obama ever had a debate, I'd love to have the popcorn and Coke concession." He added, "Nobody will out-debate Alan Keyes." When asked if he was ever to receive a call to campaign for Keyes, Watts nodded, "I'd do it in a New York minute."

We then brought up the ring-side seat he had last night with Chris Matthews on Hardball, when Zell Miller spanked Matthews (video here) in only the way a man from the generation before PC ever could. Watts laughed and said "That's as good as it gets."

Watts mentioned the flack Zell Miller is getting for the way he talked to Matthews, especially the remark about having a duel. "We could have a whole show on how this kooky independent filmmaker and all of his buddies called the President a thug, liar, killer. I mean if we're gonna say that Zell Miller shouldn't say that, we ought to be able to have at least 6 weeks worth of shows on what the President has been called.
